Train your milling cutters by recording a few physics guided machine learning (PGML) test cuts to further optimize your depth of cut from Dashboards using the Harmonizer app on your smartphone. Use Harmonizer in standard mode to detect chatter and suggest corrective speed changes on any milling cutter without a tap-test. Harmonizer is deterministic, in that it tells you when to stop making test cuts.
WHAT IS PHYSICS-GUIDE MACHINE LEARNING?
Developed with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Manufacturing Demonstration Facility to enable the tuning of machining parameters by using physics-based models and Bayesian Machine Learning. Our application uses the SpeedCast file for the prior and guides the user through a series of cutting tests to build an optimized stability lobe diagram. The Harmonizer app determines if the cut is stable or in chatter. After each stable cut a new speed and/or depth of cut will be recommended for the next pass. If chatter is detected, a new speed or lower depth of cut may be suggested. If that recommendation chatters, the previous results are final. If additional lobes are identified, they will be created automatically using the data from the first lobe. Regulations are each analysis of a test pass.
